Current/Completed Activities:
- Training of Safety Officer ( Singapore);
- Training of Safety and Health Officers ( Malaysia);
- Training of SMEs for Tripartite Bodies ( Philippines);
- Training of Working Environment Measurement ( Philippines);
- Training on WISE ( Philippines);
- Training on OSH Management and Audit System ( Indonesia);
- Training on Emergency Response ( Indonesia);
- Training on Forklift Safety ( Malaysia)
Proposed Activities for 2004-2007
- Indonesia offered a training on OSH Management Systems, based on the ILO Guidelines, and a training on emergency response, with Indonesia bearing the cost of accommodation, meals and course fees.
- Relevant training programmes of Malaysia’s National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) were offered to interested ASEAN countries to participate on a cost-shared basis, with Malaysia bearing the cost of board (accommodation+meals) and training fees, and the participating countries bearing the cost of airfare.
- The Philippines will continue its training of SMEs for Tripartite Bodies (under the TCTP). The Philippines also offered additional training programmes on WISE and WIND, for ASEAN Member Countries, subject to approval of its own Governing Board, and the Availability of external funding support.
- Singapore would continue to conduct Training of Safety Officers, subject to availability of funding confirmed in consultation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, under the Singapore Government’s technical cooperation programme priorities. Singapore would also consider offering to ASEAN countries, other OSH training courses conducted by Singapore’s Occupational Safety and Health Training and Promotion Centre, on a cost-sharing basis, with Singapore waiving course fees.
- Thailand offered training courses on Work Environment Measurement and on Boiler Safety, subject to confirmation in consultation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.
